Yes - it "suddenly" got real. China's been building up for the past 30 years or so and now we are well behind. It'll take what 20 years before we get all our subs? Sounds like a lot could happen in that time. Mind you China has a heavy reliance on Australia for its iron ore - 60% of it from us, so they have that technicality to work out before getting nasty.
The bit that has surprised me is that the labor party is on board with the subs, and it is London to a brick nukes are in the offering as well...but crickets from the left that are normally shouting their displeasure from the roof-tops...even the green twats.
That is a concern.
