I've found that the 7-08 in my Savage 10 not to be too finicky. I've never shot 120 grain bullets but usually shoot 139 SST and 140 NBT keeping both in the mid 2600 velocity range as I rarely have to shoot over 100 yards. This rifle has 22" barrel with 1/9.5 twist, weighs 8.08 lbs w/scope.
Here's the ones I've had success with:
StaBALL 6.5. 45.0 grains
H4350. 46.5 grains
IMR4350. 45.5 grains
IMR4451. 42.3 grains
Varget. 40.0 grains
CFE223. 41.0 grains...favorite load

These average a recoil of 9.6 lbs which is pretty light.
Hope this info will help to get you started even with the difference in bullet weight.
