I see no reason to buy a BPS 28 gauge for hunting where lots of walking and climbing is involved. If it weighs much over 6#, I’d use a 20 or 16.

That said, in the other end of the spectrum, you couldn’t give
me a 5# bird gun. I have seen other folks use them to good effect, but I have found my shooting drops off dramatically with a gun much below 6#. To me, a flyweight shotgun is a demanding mistress.
