I'd like to do a Maine grouse hunt next fall. I would like to stay in the W-NW part of the state. Any suggested areas to try? Not looking for hot spots but something I could do myself. Thanks!
I’ve not been personally myself yet but my coworker would always hunt up in the Allagash region of Maine on the old logging roads and was successful every year.
It is my very sad duty to report that the Allagash was very heavally cut over.
Get a Maine Gazetter, I suggest the areas West and southwest of Oxbow.
Entrance through the Allagash gate, will make any sportsmen weep.
