I'm a fan of Skidmores and Ray Holes products. I haven't noticed much darkening of the leather on any of the leather I use their products on, but you may be well advised to buy a small container of whatever you choose, because seriously you won't know unless you try. Most manufacturers advise to try a small amount on a inconspicuous place to be sure.
Good point, these are both good as well, I’m especially fond of Ray Holes Saddle Butter. Anything that Ray Holes cooked up is good…I even had Gerald Ray Holes (his son) build me a saddle in 1988, but that’s another story.
