Finding a used backhoe that isn't beat to hell isn't easy. If it's been well cared for and doesn't need pins and bushings, that should tell you a lot.
Those were all metal and well built machines. I have a neighbor who's had a couple Ford/New Holland backhoes from that vintage and still has one.
