Looking through my data it looks like E's and F's after 1931 are a hard find. They might have had to scrounge parts to build it.

The barrel address was used till at least 334xxx range so might have been on in the bottom of the bin. Front and rear sights are correct. Stock fits good. Don't know what to think about the blue. I agree that it looks more like some of the ones in the late 20's, early 30's. To bad the receiver blue is not better. Rifle is in nice condition other than that.

I think it came from the factory that way but without checking serials can't be sure.
