$2k isn’t a smoking deal; but assuming it’s as clean as it looks (and most importantly is all original), I think you’ll be happy you own it.

They are getting hard to find in high condition unless you want to pony up big auction house prices.

An 85% standard rifle around here (Vermont) can be found for $1k with patience. But to find the same rifle in 98%+ for $2k or under would be about impossible in my opinion.

It’s hard to tell in pictures, but the finish looks abnormal. It could be a heavy layer of oil is giving it a strange glossy glare.

My first checks are to be sure the serial number has the gray outline around the digits from where they were struck after the bluing process at the factory and check below the front sight ramp to find the rectangular polishing mark on each side.

That usually helps determine original bluing if in question.
