Hello
My new midwest deer rifle is a 99 in .358 Winchester.
1.5x6 Leopold

Load
Cci primer
REsized 308 Fedral brass.
200 grn Hornady jacketed round nose
46 grns IMR 4064 powder
2.67 oal

Shoots decent, I think it could shoot better.
1" at 50yds 2 1/2" at 100yds off sandbags.
Minute of deer yes, but I still think it, and I, can do better.
Scope came on gun, has old weaver mounts and rings.
I have a one piece mount with rings I plan on swapping here this summer.

With these midsize cases I usually use INR 4895, but most books call out 4064.
So, powder and grns ?
Always wanted to try Varget for 300 sav, 308, 257 rbts.
Lastly,
I have reloaded for 99,s before, unusually use the books oal for the bullets used,
but with bolt guns I try to get within .02 to .03 of the lands.
With the 99 and its rotary well, this may not be and option.
What in your expirience with 99,s is the best way to seat bullets with any specific cartridge, book oal, or custom oal for every rifle and bullet.
Thanks
