The entry fee for what most consider high end 1911s, is well beyond $1500 bucks, and isn't unusual to go $6k plus. A $1500 budget will however afford you a nice Sig Sauer P220 Legion in .45 Auto. https://www.sigsauer.com/p220-legion-45.html
