In the single shot game, the 200 yards (for score) target used now is the same as the old German Ring Target used over 100 years ago in American schuetzen matches.

American Single Shot Rifle Association official 200 yard target: 22-ring = 6", 25-ring = 1 1/2". My God how the crosshairs dance into and out of that white ring!

One of H.M.Pope's creations, made in 1896, barrel number 53, on a Winchester M1885 High Wall, .32-40, single-set trigger. Records exist of him using this same rifle in a match in Hartford, Connecticut, July, 1896. Refurbished (re-stocked) several years ago by Steve Durren from a sorry condition. Barrel as sparkly inside as it was when we declared war on Spain, and it's a muzzle-breech loader to boot with its false muzzle intact. It shoots far better than I can hold it offhand with my bolloxed up physique, so it only gets used off the bench anymore. Acquired by me since the inception of this thread a couple years ago.
