I guess it depends on how much work was done on the action to accommodate the fatter .284 case.

Often working on the mag follower, maybe a wider box mag and feed ramp tweaking will be sufficient for the .284 family of rounds. Now, if they messed with the rails, that’s different. So, going back from wide .284 cases to conventional sized cases may or may not be a problem. A good smith can make it work regardless. Just a function of time and cost.
