I still have the one I bought new in 1977 and it's always been a shooter. It's an old-school woodchuck rifle: heavy 26" barrel and fixed 16X Leupold. You may be looking at a ROT too slow for any bullet you might want to shoot nilgai with (saying that with only the vaguest idea what a nilgai is.)

Years ago, when it was fairly new, a friend of mine and I were shooting it at the gun club on the 200 yard range. When we got done, he wanted to take his target to show his father (who was a varmint shooter and reloader.) Some time later, I saw his father at a funeral or some such event in town and he said, "David showed me that target he shot with your Swift. I said, 'That's a pretty good group.' Then he told me it was 200 yards. If it'd been anybody but David I'd have called him a liar."
