I don't have a 20" barreled .270 Win. but I have a 20" Remington 660 in .308 Win., a Ruger M77RSI 18.5" barrel also a .308 Win.. Many years back I had a an 18.5" 1903 Springfield that I used in the thick forests of northwest California. It too was loud as hell. These days my hunting rifles mostly have 24" barrels with a few 26" gun to flavor the pot. The 26" guns are Ruger #1s so they're no longer that a 24" gun. They may be a bit quieter but they're still way too loud.
