.... pretty good for a newbie.... and I am a 'newbie' with the lever guns, but I'm learning fast! The forearm had a rather thick black waxy build up in it, I removed that and it fit much better. The only reason I bought 1899's before was because I had scopes that needed a rifle to put them on.
