I broke another BC flip-up this weekend, right at the hinge, when it got some side pressure. Still use them on a few guns, but have more bikini-style covers than anything else, be they the Butler Creek version, the Leupold factory version, or even a few of the old yellow-lens see-thru models. I'm mainly just trying to keep dust/debris off the lenses when in transit/storage.
