Thanks a bunch for the help. But I already have a used 7RM barrel. That is what I am replacing. (kidding here)

I finally got to talk to a very helpful person at Shaw. The order form is filled out and the rifle is boxed up ready to mail tomorrow.

They will duplicate the original factory contour. Make it 26 inches with 1 in 8 twist. Gloss blue the entire barreled action for $515 plus $40 to ship it home.

Minus a 20% Black Friday discount.

So it is a new barrel chambered and fitted and back on my door step for $450. I would probably have close to that buying a used barrel and having it fitted. The website says expect a six month turnaround.

The kid will have it for next season with a Burris FF II 4.5-14X42 in Tally LW mounts with 100 rds loaded with Midway's 150 gr seconds. Green polymer tips. Probably Sierra, but who knows. I still have a couple bags of 160 gr AB from SPS if he thinks he needs an elk load.
