You mention that it's 8x57IS which would have the .323" bore. Last time i looked into prewar Oberndorf Mauser's i came to learn they were made with a .318"-321" bore. (8x57I). Be sure to double check, you wouldn't want to damage such a nice rifle. Thank you. Will double check!
