Yes, I know the old Win Model 70 XTR Featherweight push feed in 6.5x55 had a longer throat. That's why I asked.
I am shooting an 1893 Mauser Sporting Rifle in 6.5x55 SE now, and it loves standard military and old spec 140-gr loads at 2,450 fps.
