I hate it when I do the same thing. The other was the semi-auto Winchester 100 the running mate to the 88. I had a friend who had a 100 in .308 and I have two 88's, .243 & .308. He asked me what load I used in my rifle and I gave it to him and his rifle would pull the rim off the cases as it tried to eject the case. This load would produce a slightly flat primer in my rifle, but I think the peak pressure was higher at the gas port of his rifle than factory ammo had at that time, some 30 years ago. About the same time I had a chance to buy a .284 and a .358 in 88's from an older man who was selling a few guns, I did not buy them. I been kicking myself ever since. I thought I had enough 88's at the time, I was wrong.
