Both are really great rifles with the right loads. With the 7/08 with 42.0g of IMR 4895 with a 130g Speer BT, cold cocks a deer at 300 yards. Some bullets define a caliber, the 130g Speer BT is the ticket on deer with the 7/08.
IN the 25/06, with a 100g Speer BT with a over max (book) load of R#19 at 3475 fps, flattens deer at 400 yards.
No doubt that the 25/06 is much flatter shoot'en, if that is an issue.
