My dad recently really suprised me by saying he missed out on a deal on a Win. 94 in 30/30(and it was a heck of a deal). He never mentioned wanting a 30/30 before and I told him I liked the 336 better and of the 2 94's and 3 336's I've had/shot, the 336's were noticeably more accurate.

So I was in a gunshop and they had a 336 in 30/30, short mag, that looks to have been carried quite a bit but not shot a lot so I bought it for him. I know he'll ask about when it was made, the ser. # is J524XX, I think it was made in 1952? Does that sound right? Also they have a really clean 336 in 35 rem for 299.99, is that a good price?.........Scott
