I even found a passage in the Single Action New Models section, that I had missed previously - its in one of my Blue Books.
Its as follows: "During certain years of the New Model manufacture, Rugers' changes in production on certain models (calibers, barrel markings, barrel lengths etc) have created RARE variations that are now considered "premium niches". These areas of low manufacture will add premiums to the values listed on standard models.
