I guess that it's a safe bet to say that we have some experience with the 6.5x55 here in Sweden (and Scandinavia) wink . It's by far the most popular shooting cartridge for our target shooting, or at least it used to be for 60-70 years. Nowadays we see alot of 6.5x47 Lapuas and Normas 6mm XC in target shooting.
It's absolutely possible to get 2800 fps out of a 6.5x55 shooting bullets in the 140 grains class, that require barrels of +22" and 2800 fps is more or less the max velocity that you can achieve within max pressure.
The two best powders to use if you want max velocities are Norma MRP or Vihtavouri N560. I should add that you guys have access to a lot of powders that we never see here in Scandinavia, some of those might be as good as MRP or N560 but I don't have any experience with those so I cannot comment on them.
