I have hunted extensively with the 9.3 X 62 in Africa, and do own and shoot a .450/400 NE 3", and a .450 #2. I might consider only the later two "Big Bore", but I won't beat this guy with sarcasm over it. . .


...Not stirring the pot too much, but the definition of "big bore" has changed with firearm development. Currently, Boddington (not the only opinion but widely read) defines a big bore as .45 and above. From what I've read though, a 12 bore was the 375 H&H of it's day - a very useful medium rifle. Seems like the 40's, with the 416's leading the way, might be tomorrows big bores?
