I used an 8x57 on my first safari, before these better bullets were available and it killed elk sized Kudu and such just fine... The one next to my desk as I write this is an 8x57 Kudu..
Cool mount. Love the light tips....
The lite tips are a part of what makes those horns so great. White tips come on old bulls because they are worn down and polished. Young bulls do not show thw ivory.
