Remington 700 LSS in .280 Rem, topped in Talley LW's and a VX3 3.5-10x40 and an M1 on the elevation.

Frankly, I could be happy with a number of choices. I picked this one, because I don't currently own it but would love to! The .280 is easily enough gun for elk. 7mm bullets are plentiful, have high BC's, and the scope will help you shoot them to whatever range you can handle. The gun is only a smidge over 6.5lbs and won't become an anchor. It's the perfect choice!
