I like Ruger rifles and they've always been my go-to. The safety could be a little bigger, the action could be a little smoother and the front action screw could be omitted. Wait a minute -- I think I just described a Winchester!

The Hawkeye is labeled the Hawkeye Standard in their catalog. Maybe they could keep the standard "rugged and reliable". They could introduce a Hawkeye Deluxe with some upgrades -- bedded actions, free floated barrels, iron sights and pay a little more attention to the action. They could charge accordingly for these options as well.

Maybe they could use a little refinement, but I'm pretty fond of them the way they are. If I want other options I usually turn to Kimber, Winchester or Remington.


I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!
