I paid $125 for my last one in .222. I bought a take-off barrel from Jeff and it shoots pretty good. Original barrel was not too good. It was a little rough in the stock and that might have pushed the price down a little. I personally would not pay $500 for one. I think the short barrel is a little limiting and makes for more muzzle blast than needed in hunting situations.
For that much, I would rather have a Ruger Hawkeye.
