Reboring and thus destroying a 1S in 300 H&H for a caliber already made by Ruger and findable on a resale basis makes zero sense to me. Get a 300 WM for the project as lots more of them were made and you will not lose $ in the process.
There is a pre-64 Mod 70 .300 H&H puched out to 300 mag at the ORVIS store in Hannover PA. It has been there for at least 5 years gathering dust.... I've never seen a pre-64 Mod 70 in .300 H&H on offer.

Just for clarification all my rechambering talk was pure comical, I would never molest this #1S in such a way, and damn sure not do the same to my Pre-64 300 H&H.
