Stillborn? I suppose. Anything after 30-06 is just about stillborn.
I think people are too magnum-crazy and fail to recognize an excellent utility hunting round, packaged in a super handy rifle. Those who noticed, have one.
As far as reloading goes, I had great accuracy with 225 TTSX and slow burning ball powder. Had more erratic shots with extruded, I attributed this to the powder packing irregularity around the base of the long copper bullet.
I had no problem replicating factory velocity from the Superformance, and recoil with TTSX is milder.
I agree, the ammo monopoly was a very short-sighted decision for the caliber. Oh well. I have 90 cases, that will last for hunting for the rest of my life.
