Can't see it being the White House doing the leaking. Congress can be vilified for passing the Patriot Act, but the abuse is all from the executive branch.

Long term orders for surveillance not allowed? Okay, we'll do 3 month repeating orders for SEVEN years. Target just traffic into/out of the US? Nah, we'll target everybody. Include in the court orders verbiage to not allow anybody to know about it? Yep, we'll do that on EVERY request.

Those are all decisions coming straight from the NSA/DOJ/White House. Obama did not want this coming out..

There was talk a couple weeks ago about panic from the White House about another scandal brewing which would make the IRS scandal look small. The sad thing is, I have no idea if the NSA scandal is it or not. So many scandals..
