It's terrific glass and a solid, durable scope. It's virtually the same in performance as the discontinued Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40. You have to spend quite a bit more to get any notable improvements in resolving power/resolution.
As to the 99.8 percent, keep in mind that is per lens surface.
