The Savage M1899/99. It handles like an English shotgun and handles cartridges that shoot much flatter than the Marlin and Winchester and for that matter, any other lever gun. It's pretty much the only lever gun that can handle pointy bullets with the exception of that God awful ugly Browning rifle. It is the Patrician of lever action rifles.
