How are you drinking them?

For me, it was the thought of drinking something that 'in my mind would taste like rye bread', damn was I wrong.

I've become somewhat enamored with Templeton Rye. Two fingers in a medium glass served room temp, just a bit over the lips. Fair price.

That's the way.

Unfortunately their marketing shows it polluted with big chunks of solid dihydrogen monoxide.

rye can be medicinal. Take some rye into a separate bottle and add the old fashion rock candy and let it dissolve. good for sore throats.

Dickel's is a quite decent rye.

The best that I've had so far is Whidbey Rye out of Washington state. VERY good! Runs around $45 a fifth. I've only had a single serving at a local whiskey bar called the Thirsty Sasquatch, in Vancouver, WA.

We Canadians have known that for years . . .

And that Crown Royal is made just down the road a piece. CANNOT be found on store shelves ANYWHERE in town right now.

Re: Crown Royal Rye. Do they bottle it at that anemic 80 proof? If I see it and it's at a good price, I'll try it but much of the Canadian stuff at 80 proof (40%). Happily, there's a lot of whiskey at 90 proof or more. I prefer to add water to my own whiskey and not have the distiller/bottler knock it down too low for me.

ps that Maple Whiskey they came out with a couple years ago. What an abomination that is/was.

Just the occasional sip of the brown. Goes down like spruce bark.

I think that's true. It ain't for everyone.

Their Green Apple was even worse! Swill!

Drank a bottle of that Dickel Rye several weeks ago in camp. Not bad at all!!!

I can't do rye anything. Makes me chit.

My parents favourite drink, but they died in their mid-80's so be careful.
