I am on the floor at the shot show and as of today Savage drops the Indian off their logo
WTF
Before I got to the booth a Savage rep seen me with a Savage back pack and told me

They might as well change the name while they are at it.
Savage sounds kind abusive....A more fitting brand name might be 'Sensitive'.

They really misjudged their market.
Did they not take note the way people turned on Ruger, S&W and Jim Zumbo when they knuckled under? At least the former two could formulate a semi-plausible rationalization for legal or sales purposes.
But who among gun owners has said to themselves, "geez, I'd love to buy a whole bunch of Savage rifles but ya know, I just can't get myself to support a company that takes advantage of racial stereotypes and denigrates Native Americans? But now, oh boy! Full speed ahead to the LGS!"
This will (hopefully) bite them in the ass, very hard, as it should.
