Kimberman, thanks for the info.
Post some pics if/when you get a chance. If the sale is still going on at the end of the month I'll probably pick one up.

I ain't an AR guy, just recently 'getting' into them, but I've been a rifle guy forever. That said, I have been very impressed with the Aero Precision mounts. They are well made and aren't the size of a tank.

They're on the big brown truck as I type. Will post pics when I get them mounted up. Might even dress up the boys M&P 15-22...

The Aero Precision mounts arrived today. I'll throw a few together tomorrow for pictures. I'll try not to pull a JeffO with the pics....

On my first two ARs I was convinced I needed quick release scope mounts so I got LaRue mounts for them. When it was time to scope my 7.62x39 AR I decided the odds were I'd never swap the mounts so I put one from SWFA on it. Bottom line is they work just as well as the more expensive LaRue mounts as long as you're not going to swap scopes.
I'd decide first what you want to do with the rifle, how your budget for the project looks and go from there. The only mount I've had problems with is the Armalite (this one is older so maybe they've changed) but it's lower than the LaRue and for me gave me issues...maybe I just have a fat face though.

Absolutely, if QD is not needed then there's no reason to spend the extra money.
The Armalite is a tad lower than most but if it fits, is a great option.
