Hunts,
What do you think of that Smith? I was finger-blasting one the other day and they seem like a solid piece of steel.

They look kinda funky with the receiver set back from the front of the frame, but I'm really liking it. You can check the chamber with the safety on, and a easy-peasy takedown.... The grip frame is a tad small, but is checkered front and back and feels Buckmark UDX-like.....

Shot some of those 40's I loaded up for the Deuce today...boy are they rough on GS's..... Here's a couple that didn't need reconstructive surgery for a photo op.... Stopped and did a little fishing at Winchester Lake on the way home but all I could catch were planted trout and bluegills that were to small to fillet so I lost interest....drank a beer....and headed home.... Glorious weather though and I'm so proud of my Deuce for shooting thos 40's so well and to the same POI as my regular 52 SMK loads that I could chit..... All in all a great day....think I'll go have another beer.... PS.....hope all you working stiffs are enjoying your Monday...

Nice photos Field! Glad you got some squirrels. Those old .222's are some fun! Had mine since about 1980, owned many before this one, but it has been here the longest.. 223's are fun, but the .222's are cool! Have another beer for me!

Thanks....hard to not like a 222... I had a L461 for years that was sweet but it couldn't run with this one on it's best day....and it's just a cheap SPS that I morphed into a 222 from a 223.....it shoots every bit as good as my other two 700's with premium barrels.... Launches Squirrels better than my 17's too...

Ed, Was over at the gun range this morning, testing some 45-70 loads, that I down loaded trying to reduce the recoil some but still have a good load.the 420gr. hard cast shoot almost 1 hole at 50 yrds and under 1" at 100 yrds I'm happy with that. those little hole diggin ground gophers were all over the place, so I thought I would do a penetration test, like I said I think the 420gr. is a bit much.
