Stopped watching hunting shows years ago and haven't missed them one bit.

I'm completely tackle bound when it comes to fishing. Downriggers, fish finders, GPS, and more lures and rods than you can shake a stick at.

Deer hunting, I carry a rifle, knife, rope, few matches, and compass.

Around here, it's those Hostess fried pies (apple, cherry, sometimes lemon, or those chocolate cupcakes). I favor the fruit pies, personally.

You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

The how is not so much an issue with me as the why...theres lots of stuff to rest a rifle on in the woods...already in place.

The other facet is that Ive spent 45 years hunting in the rocky mountains...if I don't absolutely have to pack it up the hill, I don't.....

I use stix just like yours out on the prairie for walking shooting of gophers and PDs.... Ammo is the bitch to carry there....
