Bob,
it will serve you well.... the Creedmoor and the 260 are pretty darn interchangeable...
I do like a few features you've put on your rifle, which might be an inspiration for when the current ADL gets rebarreled....
I don't really buy many new rifles anymore, preferring to rebarrel and actually get what I want..... and I prefer an action that is older, as I think they are better made years ago than current production stuff...
best of luck with the new toy in the field this season...
oh, and may I ask you to boast a little on that scope by chance?

Sure. I like it, but as a long time basic Leopold user it took a bit of getting use to.
The rifle does not have a lot of rounds through it yet but I took the rifle right from 100 yards to 600 when I got it and the scope seems to track well, going back from 600 to zero.
Seems any discrepancy between where it hits after dialing is operator error since I am pretty new to dialing and have not worked it all out yet with this load.
Optically it's quite good; not like a Swrao or Schmidt but manages conditions well. Resolution seems nice and I don't have to do much adjusting of focus etc. It seems fine 100-600 yards.
The IHR allows you to hold pretty fine even at 10X. I do like that. I am starting to trust it going from 100-600 and in between.

math man/458: Of course handholds are best ....but this ammo is pretty good. Even jumping around with different lot numbers it's well behaved and accurate.
I am making a bunch of brass, and have dies and bullets. I will load pretty soon. Yeah it really is amazing the quality of the Creedmoor stuff out there. That is some very fine shooting there and quite the cool rig you have! More than the great factory ammo and my obsessive reloading habit what gets me is that you can get a factory rifle for under a grand (Kimber hunter, Tikka T3, RAR) that'll shoot as well or better than many customs!! Shaking the very foundations of my existence...

efw: Yes it looks like these new factory rifles will shoot as well as customs. I had been looking and actually had a LAW on layaway but initial reports were not good. The barreled action for this was offered to me by RinB ; within hours I had an Echols Shrike for it(thanks to Darcy),and Sunny Hill bottom metal. The rifle was enroute to Alex Sitman almost the same day, with stock and BM following right behind. With this rifle I did not have to scramble and wait months for parts. A rifle that normally may have taken a year pulled together in a few short months. I turned out great and while more expensive than a factory rifle, I got just about exactly what I wanted. RinB and I have been friends for years and he knows what I like.

BTW: I like that stock a la mode.

kingston I don't know (?) I never weighed it! This may sound nuts today but I really did not want it to be a lightweight rifle since its primary use was for the range, maybe some deer hunting and varmints. More of a range/play rifle. My guess is about 8.5 the way it sits? I will try to locate my scales and let you know. It isn't painted because once it was here I just felt like shooting and not messing with tearing it down. I may do it later but who cares right?

If you do paint the rifle, just don't copy any of Ingwe's painting designs.

Bare it reminds me of the Sako 85 Carbonlight. Are the composite finishes appearance grade? I can't tell from the pics. I think I saw SKane post one awhile back unfinished and he intended to keep it that way. I hear you on the weight for a shooter.

Some bedding stuff got spilled on the finish. I guess that can't be helped but it does not look real bad compared to the old Brown precisions we used to leave unpainted.
They were really butt ugly. The finish without paint is attractive;no nonsense.
BTW I bought a box of that factory ammo with the 120 GMX and it put three into a 1/2" at 100 yards yesterday.Did not shoot that ammo at 300 yards as POI was different from the Amax.
Picked up 100 120 BT's for it which I will load up soon.

Yes the picture is sideways....(how do you fix that? ) That load impacts differently from the factory 120 Amax load for which the rifle is zeroed. That's the first 5 hand loads through the rifle

That will work Bob!! Great hunting bullet besides.
I like the unpainted look and wish I would have done that with the McMillians I have ordered over the years.....

I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally
