Is it front heavy with that 24 inch barrel? I would think a 1899H with a 24 inch barrel would be off balance, but I have never held one. Heck, a 24 inch barrel in 30-30 is weird, esp for being that late in the game.

Pics?

How many 1940s 30-30s have you seen? The last of the 30-30s were either H (BB), EG, or G. All of those are 20 or 22, mostly 22. There are very few 24 inch 30-30 guns out there but they are not common at all. Unless, I am way off. Which is always a possibility. Dont think so though.

I was told that all later replacement barrels were 24" with ramp front sights. I have a 22HP barrel with square threads and a Westfield barrel address. It's a TD and lines up with the take down latch on my H and F. It's 24" with ramp front sight, Joe.

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

" EG 300 ...ser no 761xxx not factory DT"

If that is the correct serial, unusual that it was not D&T'd on top. Actually that is the first non-F in the old receivers after 758335 that I now have in my data.
