I got a hankering for puffed wheat. Don't see any at the stores. Clerk had never heard of it. Quaker will sell 10 boxes for $39. online, but I really don't need that many.

What happened to it?

BTW, a young workmate saw me eating shredded wheat (old big biscouts) and commented on how it looked just like shredded wheat except it was big. laugh

My grandmother on my dad's side used to make sweetened puffed wheat balls for Christmas. Brings back great memories.

Somewhere, we have a picture (circa 1954) of Dad and me sitting at the table. He is eating Puffed Wheat and I am eating Puffed Rice.

If Gerber will sell it you, then they are still making it. Ask your store manager to stock it. They can't stock everything due to shelf space limits, but if you ask, they'll get it in for you.

Puffed wheat.....sitting at my grandparents kitchen table summer evenings in the early fifties, eating a bowl of puffed wheat and listening to Yankees baseball while Gramps smoked his pipe. (Prince Albert)

My two adult kids and wife have all of their lives. All are tall, proportionate and have strong teeth and bones. If I have "milk" with the rare bowl of cold cereal it is soy.

I toured Braum's Dairy in Tuttle, Oklahoma. They milk 10,000 cows twice a day. They have a vacuum processor that they run their fat free milk through and it concentrates the milk by removing about a third of the water from the milk, and it also has a significantly higher amount of protein, calcium, and other nutrients. And it tastes rich and creamy.
So yeah, people drink fat free milk on purpose.
