I didn't receive any responses in the hunting rifles section below.

Anyone have any experience with them or Jard triggers in general?

Thanks,

David

Top notch! I have them in all of my Kimbers. The factory ones are nice as well but the Jard is an upgrade IMHO!

Guess I'll pound sand also. All 5 of my Kimber rifles have crisp clean triggers at 3 lbs.

Please do.

And the wave of folks coming behind you.

If I wanted a 3 pound trigger I wouldn't have asked about the Jard.

highball glass full of ice.
One part Mexican coke
4 parts kraken rum.
Lighten up a little and quit being so defensive brother.

Im happy with the triggers on my Montana's but if you want better, more power to ya.
Had a jard in a 700 I had years ago. Nice trigger. I have mostly Timney in my Remington's though, except for a shilen in a 40xr, so I'm no trigger snob.
What's the lightest pull a Kimber trigger can safely be taken to?

I'm not one to tell a guy what he should have, but I've got all my Kimber triggers set between 18-24 oz, and they break like glass...

Schidt man. Mine are both at 1.5 lbs. Wouldn't think of changing them.

So no actual experience with the Jard trigger in a Kimber 84m?

I started a thread just for you two and the other helpful individuals in this thread:

Should I buy a Jard trigger for my Kimber 84m or

Enjoy!

My Kimber trigger is good, such that I don't see the need for aftermarket parts.

My experience with a Jard fire control assembly for the 10-22 wasn't that impressive. The ones I rebuilt with Clark and Volquartsen parts were much better, cleaner breaking without creep.

IMO,

Like DF, the triggers on the 3 Kimbers I've owned were good, easily adjusted to around 20 ounces, which I find adequate for hunting triggers.

My experience with the Jard 10/22 trigger was different, though. I have the 1 pound version and it's really really really good, way better than any I've shot that were rebuilt with aftermarket parts and way better than the Volquartsen triggers I've shot. It's possible I got the only good one they ever made, but I absolutely definitely got a good one.

My experience with other Jard products has been very poor. I've done 700 triggers with their parts. I've had one of their replacement units. I can't recommend them and won't buy any more.

David,

What's with the attitude? It is unlike you to be so aggressive. As I said before, I'm not one to tell other guys what they should have, I simply stated my experience, which seemed very relevant to your question about replacing your Kimber trigger. I get the impression that you're frustrated with yours, did you get a dud from the factory? Sorry I can't help with any advice/experience with Jard triggers...

The part where you have a #3 trigger is why I chimed in. You do know that the Kimber is adjustable, right?

If you look on the bottom of the stock there are two screws with allen heads. One is in the trigger guard and the other is forward of that. Lefty loosey. This will allow the removal from the stock. If you have any trouble, pm Ringman.

From there it gets a bit complicated so you might wanna ask in the gunsmithing section.

Jordan

It's pretty simple - I asked a specific question about a specific piece of equipment. In response people that have zero experience with that equipment come out in droves to tell me what I should be doing instead of looking at that equipment.

Where did I state that I had a 3 pound trigger or that I didn't know how to adjust the existing trigger?
