Agreed. We won this engagement, but certainly not the battle nor the war.

Exactly right, which is one reason my wife and I felt it our duty to homeschool our children. I wish more people would not let the public school system indoctrinate their children. True, it is a considerable time commitment but well worth it in our experience. Among the many other benefits are the very close relationships we have with our children.

While it is true that homeschooling is not for everyone, it is not at all difficult. There are very many support services available these days.

as soon as society 'accepts' that crap, they bring a new taboo onto center stage and fight for that being normal too.
The fight to normalize child molestation and animal sexual abuse are just around the corner, and coming to a TV station near you.

Well, yes and no.

Once everybody decided it was the government's business who is and who isn't married, and once it became common practice for insurance companies to factor in things like marriage, the slope got real slippery.

Pretty much the case. It never was about equal rights, it was about the money.

True. Many think home schooling is difficult, but that's because the institutional school system is 90% a waste of time during to each day, so parents think they need to school their kids for six or seven hours a day. That schedule is mainly an excuse to keep kids from their parents for the bulk of the day. Actually learning real subject matter at home only requires an hour or, maybe, two each day, and almost always results in much better educated kids.

Six or seven hours at school is mostly wasted time. Serves to keep kids from learning actual useful skills (that would put them in competition with adults in the work force), and allows for indoctrination outside of the supervision of parents. As for the former, it makes some sense from a "herd management" perspective but, on an individual level, is hugely disadvantageous for the kids. Wouldn't it be better for most kids to be learning to work with engines, electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, etc., along with academics, vs drama, gym, ridiculous electives, etc.?

not in attempt to be argumentative,
but I think what they worry for,
is that the law applies equally to everyone ,
and all their special interest constituency's lose the appearance of being victims of the right.

more than anything, they fear losing the narrative .

Absolutely, positively, 100% spot on. They created the snowflake generation and have seized control of the minds of all future generations---unless we make a major move to wrest it from their slimy paws. Remember the old bumper stickers the regressives (who call themselves progressives) used to put on their cars? "Think globally, act locally." That's the strategy they've employed over the last forty years, and look at what they've accomplished.

Fight fire with fire.

Home schooled ours thru and completed 8th grade. Public High School. Oldest is way more liberal than I ever thought possible. Makes me very sad.
