Battue
Congratulations! That is one sweet rig and I know you will give it a good home.
Lucky Dog. Bob is smiling!

Nathan: Thanks for the progress report. Beretzs: Must admit I'm looking forward to its arrival. Next trip or order will have some 130gr Partitions. Will shoot some factory to get brass. I didn't deserve anything, but good luck is never a bad thing. That's going to shoot everything great I bet. Cannot beat a great 270 in my opinion. Bob was truly a good dude and when he wanted to plant deer you knew a 270 wasn't too far away. He did talk me into a 30-06 P64 Featherweight right at Christmas. He had the recipe on good rifles and what made them worth having.

Bob will be missed here and I wish I could have known him in person. One of the things I'm really interested in is how this rifle balances out and carries while moving around.

Congrats Battue If it doesn't handle to your satisfaction I would be willing to make room for it in my safe.
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

Just wanted to extend another thank you to the 88 gracious folks that participated in the drawing.
I'm sure we'll be seeing more photos of the rifle in the coming days as well news along the way in regards to the charitable gifts.

The trigger guard needed a little work. I guess! Thanks for making this happen Nathan. And nice work. I'm looking forward to seeing Battue's rifle when it's done.

The trigger guard needed a little work. Sorry for the extra work.... That is how Blackburn produced his bottom metal.

No pressure battue. You screw up this deal you'll be the most hated man on the 'fire.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

I've been "out of pocket" for an extended period of time, and I'm just know learning of Bob's passing.
Condolences to his friends and family. I only "knew" Bob from the Campfire, but have traded PM's with him over the years. A truly nice guy. His presence around the 'fire will be missed.

In addition, I've been fairly fortunate the last couple years in crossing paths with some nice representative Pa Bucks. I'm due for an off year. Best do more than usual scouting this year. 😀
