22 inch, heavy barrel in a Howa Varmint configuration in bolt action in either .204 or .22-250 dipped in full camo....
Top it off with a Leupy 4-12....
Add a sling, Harris sitting bipod that goes about 30" and that's good for me....

My m70/60/06, 25" Schnieder 4 weight, 10 twist.
Africa Walnut stock and a 6-20 Leo with premier reticle dotz to 700.
I built this rifle a few moons ago with yotes being the main reason.
Its seen some use for this kind of stuff.

Don't often get shots past 300 yards here at home, my favorite specific is a 7 twist Wilson barrel 26 inch tube, floated on an AR15. Happens to shoot some match 75 bthps that I have a few thousand of really well with RL15.....

I don't like the typical factory varminter weight , nor do I like most of the whippy barreled sporters..........the nicest I've handled is the Kimber Pro-varmint , or whatever they call it , with the medium fluted barrel . My CZ .17 Rem comes very close to the weight and bulk I'd like , but the caliber is a little light if you stretch out the range.......I've a M-70 Coyote in 223 WSSM that's just a little heavy ..... I reckon a a lighter stock would make it feel pretty good .
As for caliber , I figure for "normal" ranges under a quarter mile and if you want minimal fur damage the 204 is gonna prove to be about as good as it gets..........if you want to shoot at any feasible range , I'd like to try a 22/6mm pushing the 75 gre A-Max........the 222WSSM comes close in factory form , but they gave it a twist not quite fast enough to handle the best long range bullets.
I'd like to take a close look at one of the new Vanguard varminters ......looks to be a nice size and weight .

I'll take a 22 Dasher XP-100 HG 12 twist barrel shooting the 60 gr. JLK LD bullet/4-12X Burris Compact with BP reticle. This would be my general coyote rig.
For strict fur-taker it'd be a 17 PPC XP HG again/3-9X Burris Mini plex reticle, blasting the 30 Gold as fast as i could out of it.
For LR damage control, i already have both of them--
1) 243 WSSM Striker/4.5-14X Leup. VX-III/VH reticle. 105 A-Max.
2) 6.5 WSM XP HG/8.5-25X Mark IV/TMR reticle (tho i'd prefer Darrell Holland's ART reticle). 140 A-Max for way out there.

Ultimate Shadow 243 WSSM. Leupold VX-II 3-9x40. Makes for a light setup. 55gr BST and 85gr TSX. Looking forward to seeing how it's going to perform on deer this fall with the 85gr pill.
