Seems like a lot of work but I can make it work. What are some of the other hosting websites for pictures other than PB?

I am looking at using PictureTrail. Seems to work in the tests I made this morning.

Then, make sure the URL you are posting has https instead of http. Put it between image tags [img] and [/img], and you should be good to go.

The key to the secure page lock is that the URL is https and not http. Gotta have https.

Gringo Locos instructions work well - Takes a little longer and looks like I'll need to do some sizing before posting so not as easy but it's an alternative.

Maybe I missed something but is there a photo album area to upload your pics to? I'd rather not create a post just to put images on that I might want to use elsewhere. I'd be fine paying a nominal fee for the privelege. Thanks, Bill

Is that free? I'm kind of a tight wad.

There's something going on with them.

Many people have had their photo's disabled.

My guess is that it just take photobucket awhile to get around to everyone... Sooner or later...

Yea, like Rick said, this URL is http, not https.

Mine were visible here yesterday. I got an email from them overnight about losing 3rd party hosting capabilities. They're gone from here today. So it does appear they're going about it piecemeal.

PB was the simple answer for many users on forums, they will lose all pictures including avatars...the downside to image hosts.

I got the e-mail from PB telling me I needed to upgrade in order to allow third party hosting. I clicked on the upgrade link to see how much it costs to upgrade. It's only $399.99. Such a deal.

I'll probably keep the PB account for a little while to see if it regains a little common sense. After that I'll cancel my account. I don't put anything there that I don't have on other storage media under my control.

Every other site I have been a part of, has had member albums. This made it dead simple to post personal pics. Upload, link, post. Done.
I have never needed a third party host before.

I agree, and mentioned that since I joined,,,,but think it massively effects server size for individual files, and generally the Forum "owns" you picture once it's posted on line. This is the only forum out of 15 or so that I have to use a image host.

Photobucket will be the most hated, bankrupt site on the internet if they keep things this way.

For more than 10 years, the majority of people posting hosted pictures on any board on the internet has used them. Mostly for the reason of having 3 party hosting...

Now, 10 years of photos, instruction, tutorials, and priceless information throughout the internet will be lost because PB changed their game plan?

As an example, here's a thread that's a couple years old. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/10095256/1

You can see how valuable it is now. whistle

If I owned a website like this one, or any other site that archives valuable information that will be affected by all the PB BS, I'd be all over them like chicken on a Junebug. wink

Hope the PB people didn't like their jobs much. Hope their creditors got their money upfront as well, because I see any cashflow they have coming to a screeching halt.

The only private pics I can post at this time, are links to pics posted on other sites.
