So, FreeMe, tell us how you did that.. Just down size your original avatar to 80x80 max, and down load the avatar in your profile section straight from computer hard drive.

What the heck is 3rd party hosting? I hate being told I need to give up more info. As if we need them to do us a favor.
So I deleted all my photobucket pictures and they can keep their site. I acknowledge that I know next to nothing about the internet, but I do know that many sites are giving up all their info to the government and that alone is reason for me to not want to give in to this kind of manipulation.
So---------------- anyone know another site that is not run by jerks that can be used to post pictures?

3rd party hosting is when you post a link to a photobucket image on a website like this one.
Someone on another site today said the photobucket site was hacked. Apparently some are getting emails saying they need to pay $399.99 to unlock their accounts or something to that effect and enable 3rd party hosting. I did some browsing and it looks like a $59.99 UPGRADE. I'm going to wait a few days and see what happens but free hosting on PB may be a thing of the past

testrun I could not use the "open" function of the attachment feature, but a drag and drop of the *.jpg file did work for me. Convoluted, but functional. Hope Photobucket comes around on this as it's a shame to lose the historic links. Some of Photobucket's direct links are still up. Either folks have the buy in accounts, or they've not gotten around to screwing the whole crowd yet. This current process probably puts a bit more stress on Mr. Rick's system. Thanks Gringo Loco,

Check out this pic FROM Phb -- same as I get FROM Phb. Upgrade to 500 plus is $399.99/yr. - FROM Ph B Photobucket Pic

PB has been getting progressively more annoying to use over the years. This was a good "last straw" to drop them, which I did yesterday. Screw 'em.

LOL, same traffic...
I've had zero problems over many years with PB, and the last time I posted a pic here, it was through PB, but with IMG tag thing like always.
Maybe PB and 24 have changed since then... Impress me.....post a pb pic

Ted- the reason ours are gone is because they started with the cool people's accounts first.

I join the ranks of those thoroughly unhappy (read: completely pissed off) about Botophucket's new business model. That being said, I find it interesting that, historically on the 'fire, if someone complains about the price of something, let's say gasoline, the immediate response is to rally the villagers, light torches, pile kindling around the stake, all the while emitting cries of, "If you don't like it, do your own prospecting, drill your own wells, build your own refinery, etc! Damn commie - what do you have against Capitalism?" In this instance, there seems to be the opposite response - interesting.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

I have no problems with them charging, I have problems with their 'thief in the night' approach.

And their exorbitant hostage fee to get them back, a reasonable rate wouldn't have bothered me.
