On the very rare occasions tequila lives in my house it is usually Don Julio Blanco.

Whisky-Bourbon has the same effect on me that you say Tequila has on you. It makes me gag. I've tried a bunch that people said was good and it all tasted about the same to me. A really good Tequila makes my mouth water from the smell, just like a good steak.

It's all poison.

For a White/Blanco Tequila, Corzo is impossible to beat for the price.

For a sipping Repasado, Heradura with a slice of lime and one ice cube is great on a hot day.

Not tequila per se, but this stuff is surprisingly good:

Sotol Reposado

Made from sotol, a similar but different plant than agave.

All poison in moderation Ricky. Even too much Aspirin will kill you.

Prefer the 100% agave and aged at least a year (anejo)

Personally, no issues with after-effects like I will with the less expensive stuff. Very different for me.

Good tequila has a very different feel to me than cheap tequila and for that matter, other booze.

Okie John

A very good reposado. I bought a bottle on the recommendation of a local in Ensenada.

This is a very good sipping tequila too,

We used to have tequila tasting parties during the summer and would rate all the tequilas friends brought over but for some reason I don't remember all the winners.

Not an absinthe addict K_DUB, but I will drink it on occasion simply because we stayed about a block from this place while we were in Paris and I dropped at least a couple hundred eating and slothing there. smile

Don Julio is a fave, but I rarely spring for it.

Last few bottles I’ve bought were Sauza 100 Anos. Cheap and pretty good.

Both repasados. I like them over silvers and the anejos.

Once upon a time. And no it doesn't make me or anyone else I know hallucinate, no matter the source of the liquid. And I've hallucinated before enough to know the difference. It does get me drunk, tastes like chit and leaves a nasty feeling in my head the next morning.

Pass the vodka, we're getting drunk.

Have enjoyed both European spirits and homemade absinthe.

I really like Bacanora and Sotol but the Kirkland blanco is such a great deal it's hard to spend two or three times as much, even more for Corzo, to get something minimally better.
