Yep, and as you get better and find places to shoot further, the 16" target will come in handy.

As far as who, I bought to 16's and a 24 from GA STEEL off ebay.

I chose 3/8 for all three, the 24 is stupid heavy so I am glad I didn't chose 1/2. And at 1/2, it may not quiver for the hits.

smokepole, I run into the issue a lot at the local range where steel is available at 400 and 600. No chance of seeing holes in paper with any mirage so I started shooting sighters into a dirt clod or other object on the berm. It usually takes one shot and then I can move to steel or shoot n see targets.

Yep, I do that too if I can stay with the target in the scope but depending on the rifle its not always possible.

Steel targets are easy to buy just about anywhere but hanging them can be an adventure.

This system from Hang Fast Targets makes it a lot easier....

JC Steel targets sells a bracket that holds the steels and fits on a T-post and it works very well.

Yeah, but they only hold 1 target at the top. The Hang Fast bracket will mount many targets on the same post. The JC mount holds the plate ridged so there is no movement and very little CLANG !

What's your connection to Hang Fast?

PS, I don't see hanging multiple targets in the same spot to be an advantage.

Seems like a great idea until you realise the splatter is hitting the target below it right in the guts.

The angle of the dangle needs work too.

I've had this setup on my 500 yard range for 5 years and no problems. Yes, the bullet splatter hits the hangers below.... and it does take the paint off but no other damage than that. No frags are directed forward.

If frags are a problem that need to be contained.... there is this approach. The tire catches about 99% of the frags for disposal or remelting.

Ha! Is that a t-post stand? Hopes of congress' approval for the border perhaps?

Have you had any of the multiple target stands up for 5 years?
